Below you will find answers to many common questions about The Open University Giving Day 2024.

What is the OU Giving Day?

Giving Day is a chance for the entire community – alumni, students, staff and friends to come together, reflect on our shared experiences of the University and help keep education open by supporting our key funds.

How can I get involved?

You can make a gift and become a Giving Day donor.

You can help us spread our core messages amongst your friends and peers.

You can get involved with a Giving Day challenge.

What are we fundraising for?

The OU Giving Day 2024 will promote and support the Open Futures fund of scholarships and bursaries. More details on the projects you can support can be found using the buttons at the bottom of this page.

What if I can’t give on the day itself?

The Donate button is already live so you can give via our Giving Day platform.

How do you process my gift and what does it cost?

Debit or credit card gifts are processed via Stripe and their processing fees are as follows:

Donations made via European debit or credit cards are charged at 1.4% + 20p

Donations made via non-European debit or credit cards are charged at 2.9% + 20p

Can I set up a regular gift?

Yes, absolutely!

 

Regular donations help the OU plan for the future. If you have a UK bank account, you can set up a regular donation (monthly, quarterly or annually) via Direct Debit by visiting our website: Donate | Open University

How do I know that my donation is secure?

The Open University uses Stripe, an off-site processor for credit and debit card donations. Stripe is Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliant and has the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry.

Can anyone get involved in the OU’s Giving Day?

Yes, we encourage donations from as many people as possible to get involved and help support Open University students.
